A Wickedness Came Upon Them

They all know; A shadow lives out in the woods
But not a word is ever spoken thereof
T'is; an evil of their own design

But denial was a part of a puritan's life,
they would lock their doors and pray to their lord
Though in the end, it was not him who heard them...

Finally one night, the bells tolled doom
The witch rose out from her ancient tomb
All the villagers shuddered in their guilty sleep
Then awoke to the sound of rats in their walls

Frightened they huddled together for warmth
All the lights were lit, swaying in a strange draft
When an eerie change came over their expressions
Apprehension, piety, or a dark hint of lust?

Then as the light flickered and died
They started to turn
A wickedness came upon them
Gripped by obscene, unspeakable urges
Madness took them by the hand
and led them to a darker place

A wickedness crept upon their homes
Yes, a wickedness came upon them
A wickedness came upon their souls

Slowly a new morning approached
In church lay a filthy bloody mass of broken flesh
A puritan orgy of perverted sex, torture and death
The young, the old, all and one
died willingly in raging sadistic ecstasy!

It was the coldness of the tomb
That had crept through the land
The wickedness of the witch
A mirror of their sinful hearts
The witch saw it all and smiled
Then turned away, and walked back to hell
