Adorned In Moonlight

A rain cascades,
Misting towering structures,
Eternally lit by torch light.
No dawn ever breaks here,
This land of endless moonlight.
The rain casts down it's poisonous mists,
It chokes the vines that clasp for life,
Amidst the hope of a new dawn,
That withers in a forgotten corner,
Of a nightmarish landscape.

A whisper, from forgotten coves,
Reveals a lantern without limit.

As it flickers upon my touch,
A maiden, virgin, tender and pure,
Sprouts upon the flame.
Forlorn and shimmering without purpose,
The last of this wick her lingering tribute to this world.

Alone, this virgin brings forth her regal..
Last refractions to me, forever it glows,
Inside this shattered cove.

Within these dark hands
Lies a princess of morning's light
Blinded and scarred by suffocating
Darkness and fog
Withered by time and wind
So pale this virgin child of light
Yet fading in my grasp...

(Yet) no dawn ever breaks here,
This land of endless moonlight.
The rain casts down it's poisonous mists,
It chokes the vines that clasp for life,
Amidst the hope of a new dawn.
