Stood My Ground

I've stood there waiting for so many times
Shells come in wailing high from the sky
I don't know if God is working with me
Maybe He's fighting here against me

Time took its toll and it ruptured my nerves
I seek no victory of this fight no more
I don't know if I am too brave to die
Or have I lost all worth fighting for

Let the blood rain down on me
In the mud just death I see
Shells dig our graves for us
We are here for Gods to crush

Bullets and shells
Have all knocked me down
Life and death
Spun me around
I may have fallen
Then I have risen
I've always
Stood my Ground

I'm counting the seconds as bombing starts
Hell on this earth carves its deep burning scars
I don't know if this has gone on for weeks
I’m not sure if I am alive or dead

Drowning by numbers in pools made by mud
Mix in the dead and the doomed youth's blood
I have seen death more than no one deserves
I've buried my comrades and cleaned out their guts

Let the blood rain down on me
In the mud just death I see
Shells dig our graves for us
We are here for Gods to crush

Bullets and shells
Have all knocked me down
Life and death
Spun me around
Death has tied
Arms around me
Never let go
Till I rest in peace
I may have fallen
Then I have risen
I've always
Stood my Ground

Everything I see, scorched burnt and black
Rain comes down pouring and washing my back
Between dead bodies I stay all my nights
The dugouts are stanching with death and disgust

I hear the whistle and over we go
Side by side we march little cattle to grave
Once again I stare death eye to eye
Once again I am the one that survives

Let the blood rain down on me
In the mud just death I see
Shells dig our graves for us
We are here for Gods to crush

Bullets and shells
Have all knocked me down
Life and death
Spun me around
Death has tied
Arms around me
Never let go
Till I rest in peace
I may have fallen
Then I have risen
I've always
