2007-09-13Pre-order Lizzy Borden’s "Appointment with Death" now available!

Go HERE to place your pre-order now to get the low price before it goes up. The pre-order for "Appointment with Death" begins shipping on Friday, September 28, 2007. In order to guarantee arrival by the CD's official release date of October, 02, 2007 you must select the priority mail shipping method. This pre-sale ends on Thursday, September 27, 2007. "Appointment With Death", the latest Lizzy masterpiece, like all of Borden’s records, is a conceptual album about…well it’s about death, what else? “Oddly enough, writing eleven songs about death was no easy task for me; lyrically being graphic or grotesque would have been too easy, and being overly morbid would bring nothing new to the concept. I wrote this just like I have all of the other LB recordings, as a play or a movie. There is a beginning, middle and an end with the lead character taking us on a journey. Death is all around us, lurking, waiting to pounce, striking fear in the living and infecting us in many different ways, I tried to explore some of those ways in the most poetic way that I know how” commented Lizzy. The album includes a plethora of guest performances: George Lynch (Dokken/Lynch Mob), Dave Meniketti (Y&T), Corey Beaulieu (Trivium), Jonas Hansson (Silver Mountain), Eric Rutan (Hate Eternal/ex-Morbid Angel), Michael T. Ross (Angel/Hardline), Adam Cameron, Zane, and Marliese Quance. These aren’t simply guest performances, however. Each artist contributed something unique to complete the fatalistic tapestry that is "Appointment With Death". Track Listing 1. Abnormal 2. Appointment With Death 3. Live Forever 4. Bloody Tears 5. The Death Of Love 6. Tomorrow Never Comes 7. Under Your Skin 8. Perfect World (I Don't Wanna Live) 9. Somthin's Crawlin 10. (We Are) The Only Ones 11. The Darker Side

2007-03-13Dying Fetus: Film New Video; Unveil Media Player
Dying Fetus recently shot the first music video, for the track “Homicidal Retribution”, from their upcoming new album War of Attrition. The video was lensed by director Frankie Nasso (Mudvayne, Hatebreed, All That Remains) and producer Kim Resteghini for Raging Nation Films (Trivium, Shadows Fall, Dillinger Escape Plan, Unearth) at Philadelphia’s historic Eastern State Penitentiary. The video’s premise will be that of an accused man spending a life-time in prison. Photos from the shoot can be viewed here: http://relapse.com/preview/DFDVIDEO.jpg. The “Homicidal Retribution” video is expected to see its world-premier sometime in March. Additionally, Dying Fetus has launched a media player for War of Attrition featuring “Homicidal Retribution” as well as the track “Fate of the Condemned” at this location: http://www.relapse.com/ECARDS/df/ Also band recently announced two headlining tours in support of War of Attrition. The first tour will be the band’s first return to Europe in two years and includes support from Skinless, Cattle Decapitation and War From A Harlots Moth for the “War of Attrition European Tour 2007”. The second will be a three-week tour of Canada during June. A listing of confirmed Dying Fetus tour dates can be found in the tour section with more to be announced soon.

2005-04-28HIGHEST ACCOLADES OFFERED
Another review of Trivium's Ascendancy is in, this one coming from the June/July issue of Amp Magazine. As follows: Trivium Ascendancy Roadrunner Records Wow. That was my first thought when "Ascendancy" began and remained as my state of mind until the last chord was struck. Over the course of an hour, in twelve fractions, this Florida four piece absolutely demolishes the competition, be it established vets or rising stars. What makes their talent even more prominent is the incredibly young age at which they've honed it (all members in their late teens/early 20's) and this is only the second record put out in a fairly short existence. Starting off with the acoustic instrumental "The End Of Everything," the softly strung riffs quickly segue into the bombastic storm of "Rain" which features soaring choruses, brilliant structure and a breakdown that will have dance floors moving worldwide. "Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr" follows and is another great example of excellent songwriting, with ultra catchy lines, thoughtful lyrics and powerful playing. There is a first rate re-recording of "Like Light To The Flies" but the real gem here is the unbelievably radio friendly track "Dying In Your Arms." Man, I must have played this tune thirty times in a row when I received "Ascendancy." A tale of jilted love with a theme of personal liberation has more hooks than the Cenobites of Hellraiser fame, pulsating with a prominent bass lick, poignant words, and breathtaking vocal arrangements. If you've ever been betrayed by someone you loved and learned to overcome, you may have found an anthem with "Dying In Your Arms." Thrash insanity continues with "The Deceived" and this never ceases to get my blood flowing and fist pumping....just awesome stuff. The closing effort "Declaration" is a real epic, topping out at more than seven minutes, each second jam packed with vocal tradeoffs, massive leads, an almost claustrophobic midsection, and the pounding outro. Frontman Matt Heafy is definitely a man to watch in the future of extreme music, as this masterpiece was crafted in his teenage years, I feel fans have much to look forward to from his later output. Of course, if he is able to keep the insane drumwork of Travis Smith, the ferocious six string skills of Corey Beaulieu and Paolo Gregolleto's phenomenal bass playing by his side, who knows where he and Trivium may end up. They truly already at the top of their game with "Ascendancy" which is worthy of the highest accolades I can offer. Don't miss out on this one.
