2010-08-04 | Bring Me The Horizon: New Album Title Revealed | According to Altpress.com, Sheffield, U.K. metalers Bring Me The Horizon have set "There Is A Hell, I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret" as the title of their third album, due later this year via Visible Noise. The CD — which is said to be in many ways a concept album about the dreamlike euphoria and good nature that can be countered so dramatically with the darkness and evil that is buried deep inside humanity and that we are all capable of experiencing — will feature guest appearances by Josh Franceschi of You Me At Six and Lights. Songtitles set to appear on the effort include "Crucify Me", "Don't Go", "Memorial" and "Fuck".

2009-09-16 | To/Die/For Completes Recording Guitar For Four New Songs | Finnish gothic metallers To/Die/For entered the studio on August 6 to begin recording their sixth album, tentatively due in early 2010. Vocalist Jape Perätalo writes on the band's MySpace page, "At the moment there is guitars recorded for four songs. We decided to finish these 'four chosen ones' first because there's some deals we are handling right now, and the other side of the contract needs also something to listen soon.
"This is the first time when To/Die/For also signs a management contract. Hopefully it helps the band to concentrate only for making and playing music.
"Most of the guitars will be played by Krisse on the new album. He is not a band member. He is doing this as a session musician and he is Tonmi's [Lillman; To/Die/For drummer] friend from Helsinki.
"We still do not know who will be To/Die/For guitarist in future, but now we have 'one' who could be."
Songtitles set to appear on To/Die/For's forthcoming CD include "Angelica" and "End In Tears".
Currently unsigned, To/Die/For plans to release its next album through the band's own company. Peratalo explained, "We are not gonna look for any record label for releasing this album! All we need is find right labels which we could sign license deals with. Now it seems that licenses for Russian, Japan and Finland are already in our hands. And I am looking for new license deals all the time. So... things will happen mainly through our own company."
To/Die/For's fifth album, "Wounds Wide Open", was released in Finland in October 2006. The follow-up to 2005's "IV" was recorded by Samu Oittinen at Fantom Studios and by Jari-Jukka Nippala at Sonic Image, and was mixed at Sweden's Abyss Studios by Peter Tägtgren (Dimmu Borgir, Celtic Frost). 2009-09-09 | Dimmu Borgir: New Album "Will Sound Absolutely Massive And Heavy, Dark And Epic!" | Norwegian symphonic black metalers Dimmu Borgir have issued the following update:
"We're more than halfway into [the songwriting process for Dimmu Borgir's new album] at this point and to say we're excited about this material would be an understatement! There will be an orchestra and a choir which we still have to pick out, but judging from what we have so far and what is brewing, it's going to sound absolutely massive and heavy, dark and epic!"
The remaining members of Dimmu Borgir issued a statement on August 31 confirming keyboardist Mustis' (real name: Øyvind Mustaparta) and bassist/clean vocalist ICS Vortex's (real name: Simen Hestnæs) departures from the group. The statement also downplayed the impact the lineup changes will have on the sound of Dimmu Borgir next album, insisting that "the creative force in the band is highly intact, perhaps even more so than ever."
Mustis issued a statement on August 30 claiming that his dismissal from Dimmu Borgir was caused by his efforts to "address the fact that many songs written by me had not been registered properly under my name in their credits. Without naming every single track, let us just say that a good majority of albums like 'Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia' and 'In Sorte Diaobli' would have been vastly different had I not composed and created as much as I actually did," he said. "Sadly, based on terrible gaps in the communication process and a failure to find logical rationale for why this had been done this way found me hitting wall after wall as opposed to finding a professional and reasonable solution to the problem. My inquiries and investigation into the issues which I wished to resolve and move on from would in the end find me being fired from the group. No discussions about it, just 'goodbye' (via text message)."
Last year's "Blackest Of The Black" tour with Danzig helped support Dimmu's latest DVD titled "The Invaluable Darkness", which debuted at No. 5 on the Top Music Videos chart in mid-October. It was also the band's last North American tour promoting their eighth studio album, "In Sorte Diaboli", which debuted on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart at No. 2, and on The Billboard 200 chart at No. 43. 08. No Stone Unturned

From the epic title track to the melodic ballad "New Love in Town", this album is on another level, less extreme than previous offering, 2006's "Secret Society", and with matured sound, "Last Look at Eden" is a mix of all the elements that have made EUROPE famous the world over.
Commented singer Joey Tempest: "This time we're taking a new direction with our songs, and we're exploring different styles. There is a definite classic rock vibe on several tracks on this album — a tip of the hat to groovin', funkin' '70s rock songs, with a modern twist."
He added: "We've got a couple of great ballads, plus some thundering rock tracks that will put you flat on your ass! We've taken the best bits from our recent albums and taken it to a new level 'Last Look at Eden' is more of a EUROPE album than 'Secret Society' or 'Start From The Dark'. We had to make those albums in order to do this." Source: DarkSide.ru |

With that being said, we're currently working on our next album and are excited to start a new chapter in the legacy that is Dimmu Borgir." Source: DarkSide.ru |

2007-05-24 | Unearth part ways with Mike Justain! | Unearth have officially parted ways with drummer Mike Justian: "Last night marked the end of the line for Mike Justian with Unearth. There are many reasons why we decided it was time to move on without him, but we are not in the business of airing dirty laundry. We will say that we grew apart as individuals and as musicians and the split will be best for both the band and Mike.
In true Unearth fashion, we will continue on without skipping a beat. We are pleased and honored to say that Gene Hoglan of Strapping Young Lad is filling in for the rest of our tour with Dimmu Borgir, DevilDriver and Kataklysm. He will take the stage for the first time with us tonight in Vancouver, BC. Gene is an unreal musician and has learned a set in extremely short notice. We can not thank him enough for lending his skills to our band for this tour.
Mike is an amazing drummer and will surely turn up in another band soon. We traveled the world with him, shared some of the best experiences of our lives and can call him a brother forever. It was just time for both parties to split, plain and simple. We wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavors." Source: MetalBlade |
