2008-10-24 | Arch Enemy: launch online track from "Tyrants Of The Rising Sun" | Extreme metal masters Arch Enemy present you a first appetizer for their stunning new live release “Tyrants Of The Rising Sun – Live In Japan”, which streets on November 24th, 2008 in Europe and November 25th in North America. You can now check out the song “Taking Back My Soul” (the original version appears on 2005’s “Doomsday Machine album) in its uncompromising live intensity and impressing Andy Sneap mix at band myspace
Recorded in March of 2008 in Tokyo, “Tyrants Of The Rising Sun – Live In Japan” is not only a breathtaking live document of the “Rise Of The Tyrant” touring cycle, but also marks ARCH ENEMY’s first internationally available live-album (and second DVD after “Live Apocalypse”). The main live-set demonstrates very clearly what an enormous amount of quality metal-tracks the band has forged during its 7-studio albums lasting career and the bonus content includes an in-depth road movie allowing further insights into the ARCH ENEMY-cult phenomenon in Asia as well as several promo clips.
Vocalist Angela Gossow comments on the live release as follows: “It is a great reward to make studio songs come alive – and they truly take another shape and form on stage! They turn from being a ‘rocking tune’ into beasts, full of emotions. The songs suddenly have their own heart beat and their blood runs through thousands of people in the audience – making them a crucial part of the music! Singing along, screaming, shouting, crying, cheering – This huge powerful choir we could never summon in a studio recording.
I am very happy we got the opportunity to capture the beauty and the brutality of Arch Enemy live in Japan! Choosing Andy Sneap to mix and master ‘Tyrants of The Rising Sun’ is the icing on the cake. Now we only got about another 666 countries left we would like to shoot a live video from, haha! Thank you for keeping us alive! Feel the blood, taste the sweat, hear the roar of The Tyrants! The Tyrants of The Rising Sun!“
“Tyrants Of The Rising Sun” will be available as Deluxe DVD+2CD with special packaging, Standard DVD, Standard 2CD and Ltd. 2LP (with alternate artwork). See below for an exact content-listing:

2007-03-22 | Arch Enemy - Christopher Amott returns | Arch Enemy are pleased to be able to announce that original guitarist Christopher Amott is rejoining the band with immediate effect. The band, having finished an intense 18 month touring cycle all over the world promoting the “Doomsday Machine” album and “Live Apocalypse” DVD, are currently busy working on songs for their new studio album.
Christopher surprised many by departing Arch Enemy at the end of the “Doomsday Machine” recording sessions in 2005, having been in the band for 10 years (starting with Arch Enemy at age 18). Christopher followed his urge to see the outside world and find what else is out there apart from music. Having done that, the time is right for him to return to the fold with a newly injected bite and focus and to resume his career.
Commenting on the re-grouping announcement he states:
“This is very exciting for me, returning to Arch Enemy as a fulltime member! Right now we are working on our forthcoming album and I'm very pleased about the way it's turning out. The new songs are fast and furious with lots of melody! To all the people who sent me kind messages while I was out of the band, thank you for your support, it helped me a lot. After this (much needed) two year break, I'm looking forward to getting back on the road. I hope to see you all later this year!”
Arch Enemy mastermind Michael Amott compliments his younger brother Christopher perfectly in style and chemistry and together they have become one of the most infamous and ripping guitar teams in extreme metal. Michael comments:
“So, we are back with my brother Christopher on guitar - it's a huge rush to have him back playing in his signature style! He's jumped in at the end of the songwriting process for the new album and added some of his unique spice! I feel Christopher's playing has matured and is more precise and even faster than before! Guitar fans are going to freak on the stuff we are getting up to on the new album!”
The last two years have been the busiest and most successful touring campaign of Arch Enemy’s entire career, so the many fans both old and especially new can now look forward to witnessing Christopher’s return to the stages of the world. In regards to Fredrik Åkesson, the Swedish guitar-wizard who has been touring with Arch Enemy for 18 months and who can be seen on the band’s latest video clip for the song “My Apocalypse”, Michael states:
“I want to add that we are eternally grateful to Fredrik Åkesson, who did an outstanding job with Arch Enemy over the past 18 months while we dragged the 'Doomsday Machine' around the world a couple of times - YOU ARE FUCKING AWESOME!”
Arch Enemy have spent the last weeks locked in intense rehearsals at their homebase in Halmstad, Sweden, putting the final touches to the new material and integrating Christopher on the new songs for the forthcoming studio album. More news on this will follow in the next few days, so stay tuned… Source: CenturyMedia |

2003-12-02 | Skinlab returned from a very successful stint | The mighty Bay Area quartet Skinlab have just returned home from a very successful stint on the Jagermesiter tour alongside labelmates Arch Enemy, Hatebreed and Slayer. Recently Steev Esquivel (vocals) checked in with the following tour update and the band's future plans, "Yo yo, what up everyone, we're back and coming to you proud and clear!! The Slayer tour has been an experience that we'll never forget, we had such a killer time hanging with all the bands/crews and of course all our Jager peeps(freaks)!!! We got to play in front of thousands of die hard Slayer fans not to mention our very own showing up early enough to catch our brief 20 minute set.To our surprise we didn't get"Slayered"(a term used when the crowd starts telling you to get the fuck off the stage, and starts chanting the almighty Slayer......Slayer!!!!) Not even once!!! .We're definatly proud to say that, and can all agree that it was the biggest hightlight of our carrers!! Getting to see them ever night with the original line up was sick! They are the Kings of Metal Straight Up!!!! The set list was brutal, lights we're awesome, crowd was insane. The way a Metal concert should be!
As soon as we were done it was all about grabbing a few shots of Jager/Beers......ok, lots of 'em. By the time Arch Enemy was on we'd already be in the crowd chillin with all the metal heads. Arch Enemy kicked ass, Angela was brutal as fuck and the rest of the guys we're amazing and hell of cool. From what we we're talking maybe we'll be getting together in the future for a tour together.(if you don't have the new Arch Enemy.......Get It!) Much respect to Hatebreed and crew, those boys know how to throw down, they're Heavy as fuck, they got the crowd worked into a mass wirlwind with circle pits going 3 at a time at some points......it was sick!! We'd stand on the side stage just trippin. It was amazing watching them every night. They have come a long way, and it showed proof that if you stick to you guns, you will prevail. All in all it was a killer ass run of dates, everyone on the tour was cool as fuck, we got to live out our childhood dreams, what else can i say..........other than if all goes good we'll be out for some more shows on the next JagerMusic tour!!
Keep an eye open for The Nerve Damage Sessions due in 2004, as well as a new full-length that should be out before then end of next year. Expect nothing less than a sick ass Skinlab record. We're not going back to our roots or taking the best qualities of our last few records, we're pissed and it's gonna show through our music. We've been paying our dues for the last 10 years, watching bands/scenes come and go. Fuck the drama we're moving forward and gonna write a brutal yet dynamic album that we'll be able to look back at in another 10 years and be proud of. It's obvious that what we do isn't any sort of "1-hit wonder' or a "flash in the pan", we haven't peaked yet and we're still hungry.Time to put on some shit kickers!!

2003-07-29 | Great News For Arch Enemy Fans! | Here's an official Michael Amott™ update:
South Korea: "First of all, we're proud to announce Arch Enemy will make their first ever appearance in Korea on Friday the 8th of August at The Busan International Rock Festival, on Daedepo Beach, South Korea. Arch Enemy are headlining. Other bands playing on the day are domestic Korean acts but also includes fellow Swedes Soilwork. This has been a long time coming. We were supposed to play in Korea a couple of years ago, but it didn’t happen, so it feels great that we are finally playing there now. We are very excited about going to this festival and exposing the Korean music fans to our brand of metal!"
USA mini-tour: Arch Enemy will be doing a mini-tour of the U.S. in August/ September with Hate Eternal, Evergrey and Black Dahlia Murder as support acts. "Yes, we can put your minds to rest, we can confirm those ugly rumours! We thought it would be a good idea to come over and play a few shows in the U.S. around the release date of Anthems Of Rebellion [scheduled for North American release on August 26th]! It’s a cool package that’s been put together for these dates… something for everyone! We can’t play more shows right now in the U.S., as we will be on the road with Nevermore in Europe… But we will definitely be coming back for more later in the year!"
The band extends a HUGE thanks to all the people who have been sending in their pictures. Their website's pictures section at http://www.archenemy.net/pictures has undergone a huge update. So huge it's MASSIVE. Keep sending in your pictures, but before you do, please read the "send-your-pictures-guidelines."
