The Vision Of Divinity

[Chapter II: The Vision of Divinity]

Here stories ended, here many have died.
In this forest of chaos dimensions collide.

Eerie feelings prevail. A chilling fog invades the air, a sinister veil that moves as if alive.
The trees, they have grown in unthinkable shapes, their leaves fall with grace like tears of fallen angels. Alerted we walked, slow was the pace. In such weird place, how can one ever feel safe? Distant wails echo in the woods. Insectoid beings dwell in the noxious swamps.

My senses are failing, I feel immense pain.
An abyss slowly consumes me...

Where am I? I have never felt such inner peace before. I see a damsel cloaked in light. She sublimely shines, like the dawn of a thousand stars. Her burning stare frightens me, but beckons me to her. I somehow know she wishes to see me. She is my destiny.

"Wake up warrior! Don't let yourself be killed by such minuscule creature that poured its poison in your veins! Your blood runs clean again, the venom was eradicated, the shaman of our legion has saved your cherished life."

"To him I'm ever grateful, but you know not what I've dreamed. Leader, I saw the goddess heavens hold so esteemed. A white aura surrounds her, a sign of purity. Her soul is worth sacrificing, I assure you."

"Excellent!"

Confident, our commander leads us through the woods, seeking the mystic portal connecting Dakrea to this world. The fog intensifies and the ghastly wails are clearly heard, suddenly we discover that we have reached a cemetery.

By wandering ghosts in the fog, we are welcomed to step on this burial site.
Many are the graves engraved with the names of these forsaken souls. Horrible are the specters that gaze upon us with malicious eyes.

"Leader! We have found the portal! Inside an adorned casket a vortex lies!"

"Excellent! Warriors! Hold no fear and enter! We shall storm the heavens!
May great glory be upon us."
