2016-08-23 | Evanescence Announces First U.S. Tour Since 2012 | Evanescence has announced a full-fledged U.S. tour for this fall, its first since returning from a 2012-15 hiatus.
The crossover metal act broke the news Monday (Aug. 22). Beginning Oct. 28 in Dallas, they’ll embark on a 16-date U.S. tour, which will carry them to the day before Thanksgiving.
It’s encouraging news for Evanescence fans, who have had to remain patient since the band took a break from the road in late 2012. This period saw the departure of longtime guitarist Terry Balsamo and the band’s release from Wind-Up Records, which frontwoman Amy Lee had sued for unpaid royalties. Ex-Equilibrium guitarist Jen Majura took his place when Evanescence returned to the stage for a trio of U.S. shows ahead of a Japanese Ozziest gig last November.
Before Evanescence hits the road, Amy Lee fans will get to hear her debut children’s album. It’s called "Dream Too Much", and it drops Sept. 30, featuring Lee originals and covers of kid-friendly tunes like "Rubber Duckie.”
On the album front, we last heard from Evanescence in 2011, when they released a self-titled LP on Wind-Up. Could the new dates signal a return to the studio too?
Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale Friday, preceded by a fan club pre-sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time. Find the full itinerary below.

2004-07-13 | Evanescence 'recording new album' | Evanescence are reportedly already writing songs for the follow-up to last year's multi-platinum selling Fallen.
Rolling Stone says the Arkansas band had some time off before starting their summer US tour, during which time they wrote new songs.
Recording will start when the tour finishes at the end of next month.
Singer Amy Lee said: "Everybody went home. We've been writing separately, then we're going to come together with all the ideas."
It will be the first time Lee has written songs without guitarist Ben Moody, who left the group in mid-tour last year.
He has since gone on to write for Avril Lavigne. Source: Ananova |
