Celine's 'New Day' Captured On Live Album
Celine Dion's Las Vegas box-office bonanza A New Day will be chronicled on a live album due June 15 via Epic. Initial pressings of "A New Day... Live in Las Vegas" will include a 45-minute DVD, "One Year, One Heart," which documents the creation of the A New Day stage show at Caesars Palace's Colosseum, built specifically for Dion.
The 15-track set sports two new studio tracks: "You and I" and "Ain't Gonna Look the Other Way." The former was penned by Aldo Nova and Jacques Duval and is expected to hit U.S. radio outlets this week. The second new cut was written by previous Dion collaborators Tracy Ackerman, Peer Astrom and Anders Bagge.
The album is rounded out by such Dion favorites as "My Heart Will Go On," "Because You Loved Me," "I'm Alive" and "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," plus covers of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish," Peggy Lee's "Fever" and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World."
"A New Day ... Live in Las Vegas" will serve as a precursor to the fall release of a DVD of the same name, presenting the entire stage show. That release will itself feature two bonus DVDs: "A Day in the Life of Celine Dion" and "A Day in the Life of the Cast."
Dion was recently forced to cancel several A New Day performances while she recovers from a sprained neck. The show is scheduled to resume May 26. Source: BillBoard
