2010-01-26 | Edguy To Support Scorpions In Germany |
German melodic metalers Edguy will support the Scorpions on the German leg of their upcoming tour.
Comments Edguy frontman Tobias Sammet: "It is a real big honor for us to have been invited by the biggest German rock band ever to be the special guest on their German tour.
"The Scorpions have paved the way for all German bands, no matter if some bands want to admit it or not. They were the first band to break into all international markets with a bang and they underlined their larger-than-life status with countless great albums, mega hits and amazing shows.
"I will always remember a common show we played in Bulgaria when I was watching their entire set from the side of the stage and how impressed I was by their energy and enthusiasm for playing.
"I was honored and impressed by Klaus Meine (Scorpions frontman) vocal performance when he recorded some guest vocals for my forthcoming Avantasia album. He is one of the best and most unique rock singers the world will ever see.
"From a fan's point of view, it fills us with sadness to know that this will be the last chance for us to share the stage, but, as a band, we feel honored and we are looking forward to celebrating with them on their farewell tour and share the stage one last time. And as a fan, I am especially looking forward to be able to see their show seven more times from the side of the stage. "

2010-01-11 | Female Singer Confirmed For Avantasia Project |
Germany-based singer Cloudy Yang has joined the list of guest musicians who will appear on the forthcoming release from Edguy frontman Tobias Sammet's Avantasia project.
Commented Tobias: "I know people have speculated and thrown in a lot of names [about which female vocalist will appear on the next Avantasia album], but it's not about names, it's foremost about quality.
"Together with the amazing Amanda Somerville, Cloudy Yang had been singing backing vocals during the Avantasia world tour, and also performed backing vocals for Edguy's 'Dragonfly'. Cloudy's vocals are simply terrific! And having a gifted singer like that in my extended rock and roll family that a lot of people may not have known yet, I consider it my duty to give her as much exposure as I possibly can.
"Cloudy had sung the demo that we had recorded to guide the real singer later on — whoever that was going to be. But Cloudy was perfect on that demo, and we really, really had to keep her vocals on there. She reminds me a lot of Lisa Dalbello, some people said Kate Bush. You will hear it — she is nothing but amazing!" Source: DarkSide.ru |
