Reverend And The Makers singer Jon McClure says his new band Mongrel will have a political edge.
Mongrel consists of Jon as singer and fellow Maker Joe Moskow on the keyboards along with Babyshambles guitarist Drew McConnell, former Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson and rapper Lowkey.
According to Jon it may also feature collaborations with Pete Doherty and M.I.A.
Jon told Billboard.com: "We're producing it ourselves and I've paid for it so far out of my own pocket just because I believe in it.
"I'm excited about it because I think that it's an important record. We're saying things on the record that nobody's really had the b******* to say in the last eight years. We're really taking a few people to task, kind of like we're Public Enemy or something."
