Bruno Mars will open the 2016 American Music Awards show, marking his first performance on the AMA stage. Mars, who won the Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist award in 2011, has scored seven AMA nominations in the past. The singer/songwriter/producer has just scored his latest hit with "24K Magic," which debuted at NO. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, earning Mars his highest debut to date.
The 2015 American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Drake broke a 32-year record for the most AMA nominations with 13 nods, beating Michael Jackson's previous high mark of 11 from 1984. The "Hotline Bling" rapper leads all 2016 American Music Awards nominees with nods in categories including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite R&B song, among others. If he wins in any of the categories it will make his first AMA win.
Rihanna is just behind Drizzy with seven nominations, with Adele and Justin Bieber picking up five nominations each, followed by four nods each for Beyonce and The Chainsmokers and three forBryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd.
Drake will go up against Adele, Beyoncé, Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Underwood and The Weeknd for Artist of the Year; the 10 nominees will be narrowed to five based on the votes received through Monday, November 14 at 8:59 a.m. PT. Voting for Artist of the Year will close on Thursday, November 17 at 8:59 p.m. PT.
The winner will be determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period. If Bieber wins the award he will tie current record hold Taylor Swift for the most wins (3). With eight past wins and this year's five nominations, Bieber needs just one win to become one of the top 10 AMA winners of all time.

Adele Issues Important Update: "I Am Eating the Best Burrito of My Life"
Adele made a very important announcement on Monday (Aug. 15): She was eating the best burrito of her life.
"It is an explosively joyous moment," the superstar singer shared with her Twitter followers.
Adele was presumably eating said burrito in Los Angeles while on tour supporting 25. On Saturday, she performed her sixth sold out show in a string of dates at the city's Staples Center. Tuesday and Wednesday she will perform in Phoenix (where they probably have some good burritos too) before returning to Los Angeles next weekend for two more sold out Staples Center shows - totaling eight in all.
Now Adele fans and foodies alike are just hoping she'll reveal where the burrito was from. But, so far, there's been no word.

On Sunday (Aug. 14), the NFL and Pepsi released the following joint statement:
"The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time."
The Super Bowl takes place at Houston’s NRG Stadium on Feb. 5, 2017 and will be televised on Fox.

Adele reportedly back in the studio
Soul sensation Adele has returned to the studio to record new music, just six months after giving birth.
"The Rolling In The Deep" hitmaker became a first-time mother in October when she and her boyfriend Simon Konecki welcomed their son Angelo.
Adele now appears to have ended her maternity leave and started work on the follow-up to her chart-topping release 21, with the help of top producers/songwriters, James Ford and Kid Harpoon, who have worked with acts including Florence Welch and Arctic Monkeys.
A source tells The Sun, "Adele wants to move with the times and is trying to make her new record sound as edgy as possible.

Adele toasts success by taking up drinking
Singer Adele is struggling to stay teetotal as she celebrates her success - her band always convinces her to toast her achievements with alcohol.
The Chasing Pavements hitmaker gave up booze in 2008 but took up drinking again to help her write her second album, 21.
She quit alcohol for a second time after confessing she hated not remembering her drunken antics - but after new album "21" topped the charts in dozens of countries earlier this year, Adele decided to celebrate with a drink.
She tells The Sun, "When I work, I don't drink. But touring is different. On the road as news was coming through about us going to number one in different places the band would all say, 'Come on, Adele, have a celebration drink with us.'

Adele hits US
Adele is set to hit the US after scoring a Stateside deal for her debut album, 19.
The Chasing Pavements star will give 19 a summer US release through a joint venture struck with XL Recordings and Columbia Records.
With a Critic's Choice BRIT Award already under her belt, things are looking bright for the No 1 selling star.
XL CEO Richard Russell, who signed Adele on the worldwide deal, is confident her sultry soul-jazz timbre will be a hit across the pond, telling Billboard: "She wants to work it properly, and put in time there.
"People are really excited about her over there."
