2008-05-23 | Kaiser Chiefs to unveil new tracks | Kaiser Chiefs are planning on unveiling new songs this Saturday (May 24).
The Yorkshire fivesome have been working with producer Mark Ronson on new material for their third album, which they'll be testing out at their gig in Leeds this weekend.
Mark Ronson told the Daily Star: "The boys will be playing three of four songs we've been working on together at Saturday's show."

2008-02-22 | Nightwish - win an Echo award | Finnish superstars Nightwish have won an Echo award in the category Best Band/Artist Rock/Alternative – International this Friday in Berlin.
Nightwish could win against other well-known nominated acts such as Foo Fighters, Marilyn Manson, Within Temptation and the Kaiser Chiefs.
Also, Nightwish could play their smashing hit single Amaranth during the awards show. The band will, furthermore, start their big European tour these days. 2007-12-06 | Kaisers headline Isle of Wight | Kaiser Chiefs are to headline the first night of the Isle of Wight festival.
Reformed bands Police and the Sex Pistols have already been confirmed for the event, but now Leeds' biggest export are to grab the final slot.
The Ruby tunesmiths will top the bill on Friday June 13, 2008, the first of the festivals three days.
The news comes as next summer's festival headline rumours have begun hotting up in earnest, especially as Radiohead have one spare night during Glastonbury weekend. Source: Ananova |
2007-10-09 | Kylie honoured at Q Awards | Kylie Minogue has been named idol of 2007 at this year's Q Awards.
The singer, who is still recovering from breast cancer, got a standing ovation as she picked up her award.
She said: "It's my first day back at work like this so it's very exciting and slightly nerve-wracking."
The Arctic Monkeys picked up the award for best act in the world today.
The band lost out in the best album category to Amy Winehouse for Back to Black and also missed out in the best live act category, won by Muse.
Manic Street Preachers took the award for the year's top track for Your Love Alone is Not Enough, while the Kaiser Chiefs got the best video for their track Ruby.
Enemy were best new act, while top breakthrough artist was Kate Nash.
Sir Paul McCartney won Icon of the year and former Blur frontman Damon Albarn took the prize for inspiration.
Collecting his award Sir Paul thanked his late wife, he said: "I thank Linda for seeing me through some real tough periods," he said, before thanking his former Beatle bandmates and his "fantastic, beautiful" children.
A lifetime achievement prize went to ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, with the Q legend category going to Ian Brown. Source: Ananova |
2007-09-13 | Q Awards nominations announced | Killers (US), Kaiser Chiefs and Muse all continued their good year yesterday (September 12) by each bagging three Q Award nominations.
Las Vegas rockers The Killers are up for Best Video, Best Live Act and Best Act In The World where they clash with Muse, Foo Fighters, U2 and Arctic Monkeys.
Muse also compete in the Best Live Act category and for the Best Track gong for their track "Knights Of Cydonia", while Kaisers nabbed nominations for Best Album, Best Video and Best Track - both for the catchy Ruby.
Enemy, Cherry Ghost, Pigeon Detectives, View and Mercury winners Klaxons will fight it out in the Best New Act section, not to be confused with the Best Breakthrough Act, which is contested for by Kate Nash, Mika, Calvin Harris, Jack Penate and Jamie T.
Canadian uber band Arcade Fire were rewarded with two nominations in the Best Album and Best Live Act categories and there were also nods for Lily Allen, Hard-Fi and Manic Street Preachers.

2007-06-07 | Kaiser man's Damon row | Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has hit back at Damon Albarn.
Blur and Gorillaz man apparently said recent Kaisers LP Yours Truly, Angry Mob was "empty and try-hard".
Now Ricky tells the Daily Star: "I don't give a s*** what Damon says. It's one man and his opinion. Of course we tried hard - it was our second album. He can say what he likes."
Indeed. It's unlikely Damon himself could ever come up with such a lyrically powerful and complex single as the Kaiser's Ruby. Source: Ananova |
2007-03-20 | Foo Fighters and Kaisers to play T on the Fringe | The Foo Fighters and the Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed to play at this year's T On The Fringe festival.
The Foo Fighters play Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh on August 21 before the Kaiser Chiefs play the same venue on August 24.
