2010-01-12 | Lacuna Coil: "I Won't Tell You" Video Released |
"I Won't Tell You", the new video from the Italian rock act Lacuna Coil, can be viewed below. The clip was helmed by acclaimed Italian director Saku, who previously worked with the band on the "Spellbound" video.
Commented male vocalist Andrea Ferro: "Energy is the keyword for our new video-clip for the song "I Won't Tell You". Once again we've been working with director Saku, who previously worked on "Spellbound" (and won an award for best editing for that one). For the first time we've invited our fans to be part of the clip and be the main attraction together with the band. To be gathered and work side by side has been a really valuable and funny experience; the fans were great actors and we will never be able to thank them enough. As I say, it's a really energetic video with some special FX and a great vibe."
Added director Saku: "We had a great time shooting the video. Despite the cold temperature, there was a nice and warm human atmosphere between the band, the fans, and my crew. I'm totally satisfied with the images; Cristina Scabbia [vocals], and the band look so cool, and I like the way the video mixes performance, fans, and 'vampiresque' effects."
Band will release a special double-disc "deluxe edition" of its latest album, "Shallow Life", for the price of a single CD, featuring alternate artwork, a disc full of rare and previously unreleased material (studio, acoustic and live tracks) and an expanded booklet.
Release dates are as follows:
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy: January 22
Spain: January 26
Sweden, Finland, Hungary: January 27
U.K., France, Benelux, Denmark, Norway, Portugal, Rest Of Europe: January 25 Source: DarkSide.ru |
2009-12-14 | Lacuna Coil Honored At "Premio Videoclip Italiano" Awards | According to Musica Metal, Italian rock/metal band Lacuna Coil was honored in the "Best Editing" category at the "Premio Videoclip Italiano" ceremony (Italian Videoclip Awards) on Friday, December 11 in Milan. Singers Andrea Ferro and Cristina Scabbia accepted the award for the "Spellbound" clip, which was shot at the Dolce & Gabbana Gold restaurant in the band's hometown of Milan with director Saku. It was produced by Apnea Film and the wardrobe was provided by Dolce & Gabbana.
Commented Scabbia: "We had a great time shooting the video for 'Spellbound' and it also mark[ed] our first time working with acclaimed Italian director Saku in a location that's really peculiar. It was filmed in a very fashionable place: the restaurant Gold located in Milan, Italy, which owned by the fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana, who kindly gave us the permission to film over there! The location provided the perfect atmosphere to express the 'Shallow Life' theme. Everything is really shiny and 'bling bling' and the band is performing in the middle of a golden room full of mirrors and giant chandeliers. The story [was] rounded out by some actors that are interpreting different aspects of being under a spell of something: the girl obsessed by her weight and look, the guy who wants to be a superman, the politician etc." Source: DarkSide.ru |

From the epic title track to the melodic ballad "New Love in Town", this album is on another level, less extreme than previous offering, 2006's "Secret Society", and with matured sound, "Last Look at Eden" is a mix of all the elements that have made EUROPE famous the world over.
Commented singer Joey Tempest: "This time we're taking a new direction with our songs, and we're exploring different styles. There is a definite classic rock vibe on several tracks on this album — a tip of the hat to groovin', funkin' '70s rock songs, with a modern twist."
He added: "We've got a couple of great ballads, plus some thundering rock tracks that will put you flat on your ass! We've taken the best bits from our recent albums and taken it to a new level 'Last Look at Eden' is more of a EUROPE album than 'Secret Society' or 'Start From The Dark'. We had to make those albums in order to do this." Source: DarkSide.ru |

2006-12-25 | In Flames - US Tour successfully finished! | The US Tour with Lacuna Coil has finally finished. In Flames bass player Peter Iwers has posted the following statement regarding this:
"Hey all! Thanx a lot for a great tour. It was so much fun being on the road with Lacuna Coil, Tje Sword and The Seemlesses, great people and great bands. Right now I´m on the plane over to sweden, where I´m looking forward to spending a nice holiday with my family. I bought my daughter a cute little Hello Kitty snowglobe that she would absolutely love, but unfortunately security rules on airports prevents you from bringing snowglobes onboard. I mean, come on, they wouldn ´t even provide a way for me to have it sent or anything like that. I appreciate all these security rules because they are there for a reason, but sometimes you just gotta relax. I mean, what kind of harm am I supposed to do with that? I had the receipt and the full details from the box of the thing but still my daughter won´t be getting that for christmas, cause they took it...bastards! Anyways, it ´s been a great productive year and I thank you all for that, now you have a great time on your holidays and we ´ll see you all next year." Source: NuclearBlast |
2003-12-09 | Behemoth extend contract with label for two albums | Polish black/death metallers Behemoth have extended their contract with Olympic Recordings. The group have already commenced the songwriting process for their highly anticipated new album and will enter the studio in early spring with hopes for a late 2004 release.
This has been a breakthrough year for Behemoth, who made their U.S. live debut at the New Jersey March Metal Meltdown festival, which served as the kickoff date for an extensive nationwide tour alongside Deicide and Amon Amarth. From there, they appeared on the first three dates of the now-infamous "Metal Gods" tour headlined by Halford and Testament, as well as the inaugural "Blackest of the Black" festivals (also featuring Danzig, Superjoint Ritual, Opeth, Nile and Lacuna Coil). Behemoth capped off the year supporting Six Feet Under on the "Un-Natural Born Killers" tour, and with the release of the limited-edition "Conjuration" EP, featuring one new song, two covers and several live tracks.
Nergal (vocals/guitars) recently checked in with the following update: "At the moment we are taking a short break before we strike again in a few days. After doing 31 dates with Six Feet Under, Sinless and As I Lay Dying we decided to stay a few weeks in LA. to take care of some important stuff. We are proud to announce that we finally signed a new two-album deal with Olympic Recordings for North and South America. It gives us a lot of opportunities for the future and from what we've experienced so far, the label does its best to push the band really hard. Now we are focusing on rehearsing the new set for the three last shows this year with Exhumed and Rise and this time we're gonna play a longer set. There will be two shows in California and one in Mexico, and I'm sure it will be killer! See ya all there!!!"
Upcoming Behemoth tour dates:
Dec. 10 - Allen Theatre - Los Angeles, CA
Dec. 11 - Showcase Theater - Corona, CA
Dec. 13 - Voodoo House - Tijuana, MEX Source: BlabberMouth |
