| 2012-10-23 | Muse dominate Q Awards | Muse were the kings of Q magazine's music awards on Monday after they were named Best Act In The World Today.
Australian pop star Kylie Minogue was on hand to present the honour to the trio at a ceremony in London, where frontman Matt Bellamy credited their tight bond for their enduring success.
Accepting the trophy, Bellamy said, "The key to winning this has been staying together. We're solid as a rock. Thank you."
Rockers Blur also scooped a top prize, seeing off competition from the Stone Roses, The Cribs, Radiohead and Bruce Springsteen to be named Best Live Act, and Bobby Womack won Best Album for The Bravest Man In The Universe.
Keane's "Disconnected" promo was named Best Video, Django Django were crowned the Best New Act, and Scottish singer Emeli Sande was named Best Solo Artist.
The Manic Street Preachers' 1992 debut "Generation Terrorists" was voted Q Classic Album, The Killers (USA)' "Brandon Flowers" was named Q Idol, and former The Smiths star Johnny Marr won the Q Hero award. Rapper Plan B (GBR)'s hit "Ill Manors" was Best Track and Pulp took home the Q Inspiration honour.
R&B legend Dionne Warwick also turned up, despite a recent ankle injury, to collect the Q Classic Song award for "Walk On By".

| 2010-07-27 | Alice Cooper, The Runaways Re-Record Tracks Exclusively For "Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock" | Legendary rockers Alice Cooper and The Runaways went back into the studio to re-record "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Cherry Bomb", respectively, for fans to rock out to when Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock is released this September.
"I AM a Warrior of Rock! Younger fans getting exposed to true classic rock songs is one of my personal crusades," said Alice Cooper in a statement. "The new audience listening to the classic songs of today, like 'No More Mr. Nice Guy', will hopefully be inspired to write the classic songs of tomorrow."
He added, "'No More Mr. Nice Guy' is one of those songs that, it was me screaming back at the public. At the time I was guilty of every single thing that was wrong with America. And then I said, 'OK, that does it. No more Mr. Nice Guy. The gloves are off.' And they said, 'You mean you were being a nice guy?' And I said, 'Yeah. I can get a lot worse.' And it ended up being one of those songs everyone connected to."

| 2010-07-09 | Eminem still playing T | 
Eminem will play at a music festival in Scotland this weekend, despite reports the rapper's planning to cancel his slot.
"The Stan" hitmaker is slated to perform at T in the Park in Balado, Scotland on Saturday alongside big names including Jay-Z and Muse.
Reports are suggesting Eminem won't turn up to perform the headlining gig, but festival organiser Geoff Ellis has slammed the rumours, insisting "everything is fine".
He tells Scotland's Daily Record, "I'm talking to Eminem's people and we are sorting out the details for the TV coverage. Everything is fine. Eminem is definitely going ahead and highlights from his show will be seen in the TV coverage.
"With some of the American artists, things take a little longer to sort out because of the time difference. Having Eminem playing his exclusive festival date is perfect for us. T in the Park will be the best yet."

| 2008-05-30 | Muse start new record | Muse have begun work on their fifth album.
The Devon band are currently experimenting on a follow-up to 2006's Black Holes & Revelations.
Frontman Matt Bellamy told NME: "We've just started writing songs for the new album, whatever it's going to be, you know? It's going great, we just started."
Having reassembled after a hefty tour, the trio are just getting into the swing of things.
Matt added: "It's really about getting back together and getting the ball rolling again and seeing whether it'll roll."

| 2007-12-21 | Muse praise Radiohead | Muse are the latest act to praise Radiohead's decision to release In Rainbows for a price decided by fans.
Dominic Howard from the band reckons the decision made by Thom Yorke and co. to make their seventh album available in such as unique way has given the music industry a vital wake-up call.
He told the Daily Mirror: "Bands are constantly thinking of the best ways to release music and a band like that doing it on their own shakes up the record companies and helps them realise that they are gradually becoming more and more useless."
However, don't expect Muse to follow the Oxford band's lead anytime soon.
"They're unsigned which means they are in a different position to us, so they can do whatever the hell they want - it's cool they did". Dominic added.
The physical version of In Rainbows hits the shops on December 31.

| 2007-10-09 | Kylie honoured at Q Awards | Kylie Minogue has been named idol of 2007 at this year's Q Awards.
The singer, who is still recovering from breast cancer, got a standing ovation as she picked up her award.
She said: "It's my first day back at work like this so it's very exciting and slightly nerve-wracking."
The Arctic Monkeys picked up the award for best act in the world today.
The band lost out in the best album category to Amy Winehouse for Back to Black and also missed out in the best live act category, won by Muse.
Manic Street Preachers took the award for the year's top track for Your Love Alone is Not Enough, while the Kaiser Chiefs got the best video for their track Ruby.
Enemy were best new act, while top breakthrough artist was Kate Nash.
Sir Paul McCartney won Icon of the year and former Blur frontman Damon Albarn took the prize for inspiration.
Collecting his award Sir Paul thanked his late wife, he said: "I thank Linda for seeing me through some real tough periods," he said, before thanking his former Beatle bandmates and his "fantastic, beautiful" children.
A lifetime achievement prize went to ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, with the Q legend category going to Ian Brown.

| 2007-09-13 | Q Awards nominations announced | Killers (US), Kaiser Chiefs and Muse all continued their good year yesterday (September 12) by each bagging three Q Award nominations.
Las Vegas rockers The Killers are up for Best Video, Best Live Act and Best Act In The World where they clash with Muse, Foo Fighters, U2 and Arctic Monkeys.
Muse also compete in the Best Live Act category and for the Best Track gong for their track "Knights Of Cydonia", while Kaisers nabbed nominations for Best Album, Best Video and Best Track - both for the catchy Ruby.
Enemy, Cherry Ghost, Pigeon Detectives, View and Mercury winners Klaxons will fight it out in the Best New Act section, not to be confused with the Best Breakthrough Act, which is contested for by Kate Nash, Mika, Calvin Harris, Jack Penate and Jamie T.
Canadian uber band Arcade Fire were rewarded with two nominations in the Best Album and Best Live Act categories and there were also nods for Lily Allen, Hard-Fi and Manic Street Preachers.
The music magazine awards get handed out on October 8 at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

| 2007-06-22 | Muse can be to headline Glastonbury 2008 | Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis says he wants Muse to be top of the bill at next year's festival.
Eavis says that he wanted the Devon rock trio to perform this year but the guys opted to play at Wembley Stadium instead. Talking about the conversation he had with the band, Eavis commented: "So I said, 'Why don't you put it off 'til next year?'"
Eavis opened up his farmland to festival goers this morning (June 20) and revealed that he intends to carry on doing so for at least another decade.
"I'm going to keep on for another 10 years at least I reckon, touch wood and all the rest," he told the BBC. "One day I suppose I will feel my age, will I?"

| 2007-03-20 | Rolling Stones to headline Isle Of Wight | The legendary rockers Rolling Stones last played a UK festival in 1976 when they performed at the Knebworth Fair alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd and 10 CC.
The band's appearance was officially confirmed today (March 20), according to NME.
Mick Jagger's men will close the festival on the Sunday (June 10) and join fellow headliners Snow Patrol and Muse, and other acts including Ash, Feeling, Kasabian, Amy Winehouse, Keane, Fratellis, James Morrison and Paolo Nutini.
Tickets for the event, which takes place between 8 and 10 of June, sold out within hours of going on sale.

| 2007-03-20 | Foo Fighters and Kaisers to play T on the Fringe | The Foo Fighters and the Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed to play at this year's T On The Fringe festival.
The Foo Fighters play Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh on August 21 before the Kaiser Chiefs play the same venue on August 24.
Last year's T On The Fringe included performances from Snow Patrol, Editors, The Raconteurs and Muse.

XFM says the second date has been added following string demand for tickets for the first.
They now play the 18,000-capacity venue on Sunday, December 19, and Monday, December 20.
Support comes from The Zutons plus more as-yet-to-be announced special guests.
