The Chainsmokers & Halsey Will Get "Closer" at MTV Video Music Awards
The MTV Video Music Awards are only a few days away, and fans could already look forward to performances by Britney Spears and G-Eazy, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas featuring Ty$, Future, and Rihanna.
But things just got even more delectable, because MTV announced today (Aug. 25) that The Chainsmokers will also join the cast of performers alongside Halsey to give a stirring rendition of their Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Closer.” Grab your tissues. Get your Snapchats ready. It's going to be a #moment.
Don't forget, “Don't Let Me Down” is also nominated for Best Electronic Video. It's been a big year for The Chainsmokers. It's only about to get bigger.
The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Britney Spears Salutes Fans for Promoting New "Make Me" Single at RNC
Looks like Britney Spears is getting free promotion for her new single “Make Me...” thanks to some dedicated fans at this week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
Spears posted a screen shot on Twitter of a fan holding up a handmade sign that reads “Buy ‘Make Me’ on iTunes” during a TV news broadcast of what appears to be a rally at the RNC.
“Britney Army... I salute you on this one,” Spears tweeted, along with an American flag emoji, the hashtag #MakeMe and an iTunes link to the single.
Last week, Spears dropped her highly anticipated new song “Make Me...” featuring G-Eazy. The single will appear on the pop star’s upcoming ninth studio album. Watch on YouTube.
