2011-05-05 | My Chemical Romance top Kerrang! nominations | My Chemical Romance are leading this year's Kerrang! Awards with nominations in five categories, including best band.
Readers of the magazine voted the group's record Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys for Best Album, while the rockers are also nominated in categories for Best International Band, Best Live, Best Single for Planetary (GO!), and Best Video (Na Na Na).
Frontman Gerard Way says in a statement, "The U.K. has always been one of our favourite places to play as band, and we are so grateful for these nominations and the continued support from Kerrang!, its readers and our fans. Thank you for the recognition and we hope to see you this summer."
Jared Leto's group 30 Seconds To Mars picked up nominations in the same categories as My Chemical Romance, apart from the Best Live title.
Avenged Sevenfold are also in the running for Best Album, Best Live and Best International Band trophies, while Bullet For My Valentine and Bring Me The Horizon have also received three nominations each.

2010-06-24 | 30 Seconds To Mars lead Kerrang! Awards |
30 Seconds To Mars and Paramore are leading the nominations ahead of the upcoming Kerrang! Awards - scoring four nods apiece.
Both bands will compete in the Best Album category, with Jared Leto's group nominated for their recent record "This Is War" and Paramore for "Brand New Eyes". They face competition from Biffy Clyro ("Only Revolutions"), Bullet For My Valentine ("Fever") and You Me At Six ("Hold Me Down").
Leto insists he is "very grateful" for the nominations, while Paramore singer Hayley Williams, adds, "We're so stoked (excited) our fans voted for us in all these categories."
The two groups will also go up against each other in three other categories for Best Video, Best International Band and Best Live Band.
They will compete with Metallica, Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold for the Best International Band trophy, while the Best British Band honour will be fought out by Bullet For My Valentine, Enter Shikari, The King Blues, Lostprophets and You Me At Six.

2010-06-11 | Download festival to honour Dio, Gray and Cable | Late rockers including Ronnie James Dio, Slipknot's Paul Gray and former Stereophonics star Stuart Cable are to be honoured at the Download music festival this weekend.
Videos commemorating the stars, who all passed away in the last month, will be played throughout the event - with the first clip to be broadcast to the crowd during AC/DC's Friday night headline slot.
Tributes will also be made to late musicians Peter Steele (Type O Negative), Avenged Sevenfold's Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, Evile star Mike Alexander and Monsters Of Rock co-founder Maurice Jones.
Gray will receive his own dedication on Saturday night prior to Rage Against The Machine's headline slot on the main stage.
