2010-07-12 | Napalm Death, Kreator Members To Guest On New Volbeat Album | Napalm Death's Mark "Barney" Greenway and Kreator's Mille Petrozza have recorded guest appearances on "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven", the fourth studio album from Danish metal rock 'n' rollers Volbeat. "We were listening to those guys when we were 14, 15 years old, and we have definitely not forgotten them for inspiring us," Volbeat singer/guitarist Michael Poulsen told Revolver magazine. "They know Volbeat - they like our records. We had the opportunity to talk to those guys during the last three years touring around Europe. And to actually have them on the record is really a great compliment. What they did in the studio to the Volbeat sound is amazing."
"Beyond Hell/Above Heaven" will be released in Germany on September 10 and in most parts of Europe on September 13 by Vertigo/Universal. The CD was once again recorded at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen. Source: DarkSide.ru |
2010-03-16 | Kataklysm: Completes Songwriting Process For New Album |
Canadian extreme metalers Kataklysm have completed the songwriting process for their new album, "Heaven's Venom", for a tentative fall release via Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "It's done after two years of hard work! We really made sure we had every element covered, going over all the riffs and arrangements hundreds of times to make it the best it could be.
"Our fans have given us so much over the years and it was time for us, without any label pressure or time limit, to give back with the album they have been waiting for. We think we've accomplished something special, but we are not going to say this is the heaviest or best Kataklysm and all that stuff. The fans will decide that. I just know the mission is accomplished when all of us have big cheesy smiles on our faces!
"We're going to take a little break now and hit the road with Kreator, which should be a lot of fun! As soon as we are back, we will give the album one last check-up and then start recording this beast. Should be wrapped up and mixed by this summer.
"Next year it will be the band's 20th anniversary so you can bet that we will deliver the goods. We promise! Lots of cool surprises ahead."
Tentative songtitles set to appear on "Heaven's Venom" include "Soul Made of Shrapnel", "Blind Savior", "Hail the Renegade" and "Push the Venom". Source: DarkSide.ru |
2010-01-22 | Exodus: New Album Due In April |

2009-10-13 | Eluveitie: New Album Title, Artwork Revealed | Swiss pagan horde Eluveitie has finished recording its third album, "Everything Remains", for an early 2010 release via Nuclear Blast Records. The band's mainman, Chrigel Glanzmann, is currently attending the mixing sessions at Nott-In Pill studios in Wales with Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Machine Head, Kreator, Behemoth, Bullet For My Valentine) and Martyn "Ginge" Ford.
Commented Glanzmann: "Right now I'm with Colin and Martyn working on the mix of the album. And believe me, the mix will be mind-blowing! Well, what can I say… Colin is just a pure genius!
"We can look back at two extremely intense months of working our asses off recording the album. It has been an intense, exhausting, but also satisfying time with all of us giving 150% in. Many things developed very spontaneously and songs became very authentic, pure and genuine.
"Speaking of the recording, I have to mention the amazing job of Tommy Vetterli [Coroner, Kreator], for sure, who really worked his balls off for the album! Once again he assured his position among the world’s best engineers. That's what Colin Richardson stated about his work: 'One of the best drum and guitar trackings I've ever heard!' Furthermore, we can already give you a first glimpse of the artwork, which has again been done by famous artist Travis Smith, who already did the cover for 'Spirit'.
"Lyrically, the album consists of diverse stories and narrations from ancient Gallia: Historical occurrences and fates of individuals as well as myths and legends bequeathed throughout the centuries. Yet the lyrics pretty much focus on the 'human' aspects of those historical happenings and also behold them with some questioning and probably also with a slightly bittersweet smile, being well aware of the fact that today we simply cannot tell how things exactly have been back then." 2007-11-13 | Warbringer complete recording process & US Tour with Exodus! | The buzz surrounding LA thrashers Warbringer is simply astounding following a slew of high-profile US shows alongside the legendary Exodus and overwhelmingly positive reactions to the group’s self-released EP. Upon signing a worldwide deal with Century Media Records, the quintet entered the studio with acclaimed producer Bill Metoyer, who helped shape legendary albums from the likes of Slayer, D.R.I. and Sacred Reich. This effort is shaping up to be one of the most vicious debuts to come along in years and is destined to add another glorious chapter to thrash metal’s illustrious history.
John Kevill (vocals) states: "So far the recording's gone very well. Everything is now tracked, and mixing is currently in full swing. Everyone's pretty happy with how it’s shaping up, and we all feel it’s a huge step up for us. Working with Bill has been awesome. It’s been very laid back, and we've received a lot of good feedback and input from him. Counting bonus material and everything, we did a total of 14 tracks. The cover art is also looking pretty bad-ass. The whole thing will be done in a couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to unleash it upon the masses.”
While Warbringer has built a rabid local fan base playing with others in the LA thrash revival scene, they’re set to join Exodus, Arsis and Goatwhore on their US tour in January. These young thrash warriors (4 out of the 5 aren’t even of legal drinking age) are prepared to bring their definitive brand of violent combat thrash to audiences worldwide.
Never before has the evil, no-holds barred sound of Baloff-era Exodus, Slayer’s "Hell Awaits", and Kreator’s "Pleasure to Kill" been revived and revitalized for the 21st century in such a strikingly inspired and pure fashion. In February 2008 thrash will be back with a vengeance!

2003-12-18 | Kreator checks in with new album update | Kreator has returned from an amazing show in Bucharest, Romania on December 13th, in front of more than 2000 fans !!!!
Mille sent in the following statement this morning :
"Dear friends. Just came back from Romania, very cool show, fantasitic audience ! This was definately the last show of the Violent Revolution tour and I want to thank all of you for making 2003 another great year in the history of the band !
In January we will start the rehearsals for the new record, Andy Sneap and his studio in Notingham/UK is booked for May.
The new stuff sounds like a mix between "Violent Revolution" and "Pleasure to Kill"! Up to now, I have written 9 songs, some are allready aranged and ready to go, others are still fragments. There´ll be a couple of tunes that are longer than 7 minutes and have wicked parts an tempo changes, next to 4 minute songs full of hate and brutallity ! I am very exited about the new shit and can not wait to record it! After all the touring we´ve done for the last album, the band has grown to a strong unit, where each individual member is ready to give 200 % to bring you, what you deserve: the best and most violent Kreator record of all time !
A european tour through selected venues is scheduled for the end of 2004, also a return to the US is in the making. We´re working on a huge production for this, with tons of lights and sound and a setlist that will kill!!! Have a nice new years eve party and do not let the industry drag you into their commercial christmas terror !"
