Chris Martin has said that Coldplay have written a new song directly influenced by Justin Timberlake.
Less than a week after citing Westlife and Radiohead as musical touchstones for their forthcoming record, "Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends", Martin now says Timberlake's sound was used as inspiration for new track, Lost!
He tells Virgin Radio: "One song we're always trying to chase is Cry Me A River by Justin Timberlake, in terms of the beats and everything.
I know that is one of [drummer] Will's favourite songs. And he did all the drums on Lost!"

He said: "I just broke down. I was drinking heavily towards the end of my days with the band and I wasn't happy.
"All I wanted to do was quit and get my life back. I remember days after I left sitting in Dublin's Four Seasons Hotel and crying.
"I didn't know what the hell was going on in my head. I was just sitting on the floor, holding my knees and rocking. There were tears rolling down my face and I thought s***, I'm here having some sort of breakdown. That's when I rang Kerry, who was great.
"She took me home and called the doctor who said I needed to rest and stop drinking. It was the drink making things worse. But now my life is back on track and I'm really happy."
