2010-06-02Borknagar Part Ways With Bassist
Bassist Jan Erik "Tyr" Tiwaz (session and touring bassist for Emperor and Satyricon) has decided to leave the Borknagar fold, due to general disagreements. According to a band update, "the split happened in a friendly manner and with mutual respect. The band wants to wish him the best of luck for future endeavours!"

2009-09-02Rammstein To Release "Pussy" Single This Month
Rammstein, the Berlin, Germany-based industrial metal sextet well known for its controversial and fiery live performances, will release a new single, "Pussy", on September 18. It will be made available a two-song digipack, also featuring the track "Rammlied" as the B-side. A video for "Pussy" was recently shot with renowned Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund, who has previously worked with Metallica, Satyricon, Madonna и The Prodigy, among others. "Pussy" comes off Rammstein's new album, which will be released in the U.S. this fall via Vagrant Records. The band's first new CD in four years contains 11 songs which were once again mixed and mastered by Jacob Hellner in Stockholm, Sweden. Pre-production for the new release was done at Castle Beerenstedt in eastern Germany's Halle/Saale while the bulk of the recording was done in late 2008 at Northern California's Sonoma Mountain Studio. 2005-06-30Green Carnation Working On First Acoustic Album
Green Carnation, the Norwegian band featuring Tchort (a.k.a. Terje Vik Schei; Blood Red Throne, ex-Emperor, Satyricon, Einherjer), are currently at Brown Sound Studios working on their first acoustic album, tentatively titled "The Acoustic Verses". The CD will celebrate the band's 15th anniversary and will be released as a limited two-disc edition, featuring lots of exclusive material from the history of the band and its members. The album will be issued later in the year through Sublife Productions, the new label of Tchort and Kjetil Nordhus. Sublife Productions will also work as the management and booking company for Green Carnation, Blood Red Throne and Carpathian Forest. Other releases through Sublife Productions will see the light of day next year. Tchort had the following to say about Sublife Productions: "In addition of the acoustic album featuring only new songs written for the album exclusively and cover songs, We have some releases lined up for next year, that makes us really excited about the whole Sublife thing. Some of these releases will blow people away and set new standards in music, but we also have some very interesting historical documentary coming up on DVD, that we hope to land a deal on."
