2012-10-19 | Lady Gaga to launch water brand | Lady GaGa is looking to expand her business empire by launching a drinking water brand, according to a U.S. report.
The pop superstar, who recently released her first fragrance, "The Fame", is said to be putting the finishing touches on a new bottled water venture.
Lady Gaga and her creative team are said to be keeping details of the project top secret, but are preparing to launch the new water brand with a multi-million pound advertising campaign, according to the New York Daily News.
A source tells the publication, "Everyone at Gaga HQ is keeping very tight-lipped. There are plans being prepared for marketing strategies. We know that the water drink is due out in the near future. No one has seen prototypes of the bottle.
"Gaga water is something that has been in the pipeline for a few months, and now things are gearing up to an announcement and high-profile launch."
Gaga will be following the footsteps of 50 Cent with her water project - the rapper previously invested in Glaceau's Vitaminwater, which reportedly made him an estimated £62.5 million when the company was bought out by drinks giant Coca-Cola. Source: Ananova |
2011-01-27 | 50 Cent triumphs in website war | Rapper 50 Cent is claiming to have triumphed in a long-running dispute with a hip-hop website after he accused the owners of using his image and content without permission.
The hip-hop star filed a lawsuit against bosses at Worldstarhiphop.com back in 2009, and on Monday, he took to his Twitter.com page to tell fans he had forced the site to shut down.
The website subsequently came back online, with the owner claiming the disruption was due to technical problems and not to do with 50 Cent.
But the In Da Club hitmaker remains adamant he's winning his war against the website.
In a series of posts on Twitter, he writes, "I don't know why people underestimate me. I just shut down Worldstar. For future advertising contact Thisis50.com suckers... I put Worldstar to bed, you don't believe try me (and) I will shut your s**t down... I predict 2 more websites will shut down this week. Take a guess who they are. I'm sick of the hate I'm to (sic) strong." Source: Ananova |
2010-07-19 | 50 Cent to scrap euro dance album? | 50 Cent is considering scrapping his upcoming album because he has grown tired of his new dance sound.
The rapper embraced a new musical direction for Black Magic, due for release later this year, with many tracks inspired by the upbeat European nightclub hits which he discovered during a recent promotional tour of the continent.
But 50 Cent has grown less fond of his work since returning to his native U.S. and is now considering ditching his dance album in favour of a more traditional rap record.
He tells Rolling Stone Brazil, "I've written an album that's called Black Magic, but I am not sure it will be my next album. Since I've made it back to America after recording in the U.K. and different territories since I was on the road, I started writing different material that don't (sic) quite fit that concept.
"Black Magic had a different style to it, a different vibe. I was playing with different song structures, music from different genres... I did some things that were a little dance inspired, the tempo was higher. Just playing with a lot of things. Since I got back, I've been writing things that don't fit that (concept)." 50 told MTV: "Buck is a disappointment for me, I treated him like a younger brother. He's not an enemy now.
He explained: "He's like a relative that decides to do something to you that you're uncomfortable with, so you don't bring him around you."
Buck is still signed to G-Unit Records for three more albums, but 50 has said that he won’t let the incident affect business.
50 said: "He'll still get his fair shot at releasing his album. He just did a show and only 20 people showed up. If that's not an indication that what you're doing is a mistake, I don't know what is." Source: Ananova |

Fiddy, real name Curtis Jackson, told US television station CBS: "That statement changes my perception of Alicia Keys totally."
He explained: "I fall into that 'label' as far as considering artists creating 'Gangsta' music.' If she don't like that, I don't like that clasical music s*** she be doing." Source: Ananova |

Diddy told MTV: "Everybody put all the greasy, slick-talk to the side, and we all got in the studio and cooked up something real special for the people."
It turns out they didn't slag each other off because they spend the whole track bigging themselves up.

According to first week sales figures from Nielsen SoundScan, Graduation sold 957,000 copies in the six days leading up to September 16, nearly 300,000 more than Curtis, which sold just 691,000.
Speaking after the defeat, 50 refused to comment about whether he'd live up to his promise of retiring if he was beaten in the chart race, instead choosing to praise the big-selling battle, reports Gigwise.
"I am very excited to have participated in the one of the biggest album release weeks in the last two years," said 50.

His label informed MTV news: "50 Cent is very sad to confirm that due to a last minute unforeseen and unanticipated change in his schedule, he will have to postpone his European Promotion Trip from September 18-25."
The news comes after Curtis failed to top the UK album charts getting pipped to the post by rival Kanye West and Graduation.
As previously reported on Orange World, 50 declared he would quit as a solo artist if West beat him to the No 1 spot. Could this be the start of the retirement process or just an exercise in saving face in the wake of defeat? Source: Ananova |
