В 1983 году Чак основал во Флориде проект MANTAS, куда помимо него вошли гитарист Рик Розз (Rick Rozz,он же Frederick DeLillo ) и ударник Кэм Ли (Barney "Kam" Lee)...

2010-07-12Nightfall: "Astron Black" Track Listing, Artwork Unveiled
The cover artwork for "Astron Black And The Thirty Tyrants", the new album from reformed Greek metalers Nightfall - featuring frontman and lyricist Efthimis Karadimas alongside Evan Hensley on guitar, Stathis Kassios on keyboards and Jörg Uken on drums — can be viewed below. 2007-01-11Arsis - sign with Nuclear Blast!
When it comes to seminal death metal bands from North America, the East Coast alone can boast the likes of the genre's greatest staples such as Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Death, Morbid Angel, and Nile. With West Virginia's legacy of being the only state formed as a direct result of the American Civil War, it's no wonder that Arsis have continued this tide of insurgence - albeit in the musical realm. The band, which derived its name from the musical phrase "arsis and thesis" meaning unstressed (up-) and stressed (down-) beats respectively, is righteously tinged with black & thrash metal influences but is completely dedicated to expanding the reaches of melodicism and technicality in the genre of death metal. Checking-in from their current tour with God Forbid, Mnemic, and Goatwhore, founding member/guitarist/bassist/lead vocalist and former Berklee College of Music student James Malone has this to say about the newly-inked worldwide collaboration with Nuclear Blast Records: "Since the conception of ARSIS, I hoped to see the band as a part of the Nuclear Blast roster. Four years later, this is now a reality. I expect great things this coming year; the band is now a four piece, solid tours are on the way, and we have a fantastic label behind us 100%. I am more excited now about the potential of the band than I have ever been." All of the ARSIS recordings (which include two demos, one EP, and two full-length albums) have won them many fans among the metal underground, the metal press, and metal musicians themselves. Their 2004 debut, A Celebration Of Guilt, was praised to hell and back by Revolver Magazine as "the best in the genre since At The Gates' legendary swan song [Slaughter Of The Soul]." Given their current momentum in support of their latest album, United In Regret, and with, as Malone states, "our most brutal release coming in 2008," ARSIS are well on their way to making their discography absolutely essential for any fan with an extreme music library.

2003-12-15New Interview With Chuck Schuldiner's Mother
On the two-year anniversary of Chuck Schuldiner's passing, Death's official web site, EmptyWords.org, has posted a brand-new interview with Chuck's mother, Jane Schuldiner. Schuldiner, widely considered to have pioneered the American death metal sound that is still an influence on so many bands today, passed away on December 13, 2001 at the age of 34 following a lengthy battle with pontine glioma, a type of brain tumor commonly associated with children.

2003-08-11Charon Re-Name New Album
Finland's Charon have changed the title for their forthcoming fourth full-length album to "The Dying Daylights" from the originally announced "Dead Man Walking". The follow-up to last year's "Downhearted" is due on October 6 through Spinefarm Records. A new single containing the song "Religious/Delicious" and the non-album cut "The King Is Dead" will be released on September 1. "The Dying Daylights" was recorded at BRR Studios in the group's hometown of Raahe and was mixed at Helsinki's Finnvox Studios. The album includes a guest appearance on backing vocals by Nightwish/ex-Sinergy bassist Marco Hietala and Jenny Heinonen. The latter had performed a similar role on the group's last two albums, "Downhearted" and 2000's "Tearstained". The complete track listing for "The Dying Daylights" is as follows: 01. Failed 02. Religious/Delicious 03. Death Can Dance 04. In Brief War 05. Guilt On Skin 06. Unbreak, Unchain 07. Drive 08. Every Failure 09. In Trust Of No One 10. If 11. No Saint 12. Built For My Ghosts (digipack only) 13. Re-collected (digipack only) The cover artwork for the album was completed by artist extraordinaire Travis Smith (Katatonia, Death, Testament, Opeth, etc.). The first single off "The Dying Daylights", "In Trust Of No One", entered the Finnish charts at No. 1 upon its release in May.

2003-07-23Immolation Frontman To Appear On All-Star Death Tribute CD
Immolation frontman Ross Dolan is the latest musician added to the list of guest performers set to appear on the forthcoming Death tribute album currently being put together by former Death/Testament guitarist James Murphy (ex-Malevolent Creation/Suffocation) drummer Dave Culross (ex-Malevolent Creation) vocalist Brett Hoffmann and CKY guitarist Deron Miller. As previously reported, Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson and bassist Paul Gray have both been confirmed as "major contributors" to the forthcoming CD, while former Death/Massacre and current Six Feet Under bassist Terry Butler will contribute "some bass tracks" to the album, which is tentatively scheduled to be recorded beginning in mid-to-late August at SR Studios (Murderdolls) in Des Moines, Iowa. The exact track listing for the as-yet-untitled tribute CD is currently under wraps. However, the following cuts are definitely set to appear on the effort, according to Murphy: 01. Land Of No Return 02. Forgotten Past 03. Lowlife 04. Lack Of Comprehension 05. Jealousy Murphy, who is spearheading the project and is the primary beneficiary of the funds raised through the sales of the album, has yet to secure a label deal for the tribute CD, which is expected to surface in early 2004. If the project fails to get picked up by a label soon, it will be financed by the band itself and sold to small distributors and online stores and web sites. James is currently receiving treatment for a massive brain tumor with which he was diagnosed in August 2001.
